Top Secret Copycat Recipes: KFC Macaroni & Cheese Recipe

We were recently emailed and told that the copycat recipe for KFC Macaroni & Cheese recipe we had published was a copyrighted recipe. We have no desire to publish any copycat recipes that break any copyright laws. So, we have taken down the copycat KFC Macaroni & Cheese recipe which had previously been here. Instead, we have put in place a KFC Macaroni & Cheese recipe which we feel is in the same spirit of KFC Macaroni & Cheese recipe but which we feel is actually much better than the real KFC Macaroni & Cheese recipe. Go on, try it and we bet you will think it is even better than the copycat KFC Macaroni & Cheese recipe.

(better than the) Copycat KFC Macaroni & Cheese Recipe


* 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
* 1/2 cup butter, cubed
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 3/4 cups milk
* 1 cup (8 oz) sour cream
* 4 oz. Velveeta cheese
* 4 oz. cream cheese
* 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
* 1/2 tsp. salt
* 1/2 tsp. pepper
* 2 cups (8 oz) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
* 1/4 cup bread crumbs


Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Cook macaroni according to package directions.

3. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour until smooth.

4. Gradually add milk and stir until all lumps have dissolved.

5. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes.

6. Reduce heat; stir in the sour cream, processed cheese, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper until cheeses have melted.

7. Gradually add cheddar cheese, and stir until cheese has melted and sauce is smooth.

8. Drain macaroni and add to sauce and mix well.

9. Transfer to a greased 3-quart baking dish.

10. Bake, uncovered, for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly.

11. Remove from oven and sprinkle breadcrumbs over top.

12. Return to oven for another 10 minutes until browned.


Makes: 6 to 8 servings
