We were recently emailed and told that the copycat recipe for KFC Orginal recipe we had published was a copyrighted recipe. We have no desire to publish any copycat recipes that break any copyright laws. So, we have taken down the copycat KFC Original recipe which had previously been here. Instead, we have put in place a KFC Original recipe which we feel is in the same spirit of KFC Original recipe but which we feel is actually much better than the real KFC Original recipe. Go on, try it and we bet you will think it is even better than the copycat KFC Original recipe.

(better than the) Copycat KFC Original Recipe Seasining Mix

* 2 tablespoons paprika
* 1 tablespoon onion salt
* 1 teaspoon celery salt
* 1 teaspoon rubbed sage
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 teaspoon ground allspice
* 1 teaspoon ground oregano
* 1 teaspoon chili powder
* 1 teaspoon black pepper
* 1 teaspoon basil leaves, crushed
* 1 teaspoon marjoram leaves, crushed finely

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients as listed in a small container with a tight fitting lid.

2. Shake the container to combine the mixture. At this stage, you can keep it stored for months.Stores for months. Keep out of direct sunlight, heat and humidity.

3. When ready to use, mix 4 teaspoons of the mixture with 1 cup flower and 1 teaspoon salt.

4. Place in a doubled plastic food bag and add chicken to coat.

5. Fry, drain on paper towels, enjoy!
